Rupert's Past Work

A few favourites from the vault — plus the lovely things customers said afterwards.

Solomon was my soul dog. He had a bad start in life, being a street dog in Romania, caught and put in a kill centre. He was rescued by Many Tears Animal Rescue, and finally came to me in 2021 when I was desperately lonely having lost both my greyhounds during lockdown. He actually rescued me and was an amazingly loving little boy. He won the hearts of everyone who met him. Four short years later he gained his wings. Now I have Rupert's lovely portrait of him to look at daily.

Obi was, and still is very much loved. A big, tough looking Staffie with a soft heart. Commissioning a portrait from Rupert, who has an incredible talent for capturing the very soul of the dogs he draws, was a fitting tribute to the ‘handsome boy’. It will be treasured, always.

Rupert has captured our beloved dog 'Obi' perfectly. Having this portrait has given the family a beautiful memento of his life. Rupert has managed to capture Obi's personality in a still moment in time.

I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Rupert has an incredible ability to capture the personality, quirks, and charm of a pet with just a few expressive lines. The portrait he created was not only beautifully drawn but also full of warmth, heart, and humor. Any fan of his would instantly recognize his work in the piece on my wall. And any fans of my dogs would recognize my couch in his piece.

The process was smooth and personal from start to finish. I spoke with Rupert's Wife about some details and the financial side of the commission. Then Rupert took the time to understand each dog's unique features and spirit, and it truly shows in the final artwork. All 7, yes 7, dogs and the wife and myself in one drawing. If he had a question, he took the time to ask and waited for my answer. If I had a question, he took the time to answer.

The portrait arrived promptly, well within estimated delivery date, carefully packaged, and exceeded my expectations in every way. I love the portrait, but I think chatting with Rupert and his wife about the piece he created for us was the added bonus. I feel it makes me appreciate all of his work more than ever.

If you’re looking for a meaningful, joyful, and wonderfully illustrated keepsake of your pet, I can’t recommend a commissioned piece by Rupert Fawcett highly enough. It’s an amazing gift for any animal lover—or a special gift for yourself.

Here is a photo of the lovely portrait Rupert did of our Labrador, Poppy, together with the one Rupert did of our previous dog, Basil, on the mantelpiece in our front room. She is doing her over-the-shoulder "Princess Di" look, and Rupert has captured her perfectly.

We ordered the one of Basil as a memento after he'd died, but when we got Poppy from our local dog rehoming centre, we decided to get one of her done straight away. Photos are nice to have, but the personal touch of a portrait is just so much more.
